The Domestic Violence Handbook

The Handbook was originally developed and published by the New York State coalition against Domestic Violence with funding support form the New York State Department of Social Services.

The Handbook contains information that will be helpful to victims of domestic violence and others, The information contained in the handbook is for general information purposes. The NYS Department of Social Services accepts no responsibility for the outcome of decisions based upon this handbook.

A special acknowledgment to the original authors of the Handbook for Abused Women, The Honorable Marjory D. Fields and Elyse Lehman.

Much of this handbook was adapted from the Association of Trial Lawyers of America's publication entitled, The Justice You Deserve: How the Law Can Protect You From Abuse (1994). Permission has been granted by the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
